A tree that grabs your attention, the northern catalpa is a moderately large deciduous tree with white, showy (and fragrant) flowers, massive heart-shaped leaves, and dangling bean-like seed pods that persist through the winter), supported by a massive trunk and twisting branches.
 
Northern catalpa is widely grown on residential properties and in parks and other open spaces throughout the country, thanks to fast growth, dense shade, and good tolerance for urban conditions.
 
Even when planted from seed, you may have a 15-foot tree that is flowering and providing meaningful shade before you know it. We have a batch of saplings that will be ready to be shipped as bare root, or potted in containers for farm pick-up.
